Hello!
Sorry it's been a while but the wedding season is upon us and life has been so busy.
Lots of things have happened since my last post here. A new government, the World Cup inches closer, Jersey Royals are available (and tasting fantastic) and English Asparagus is equally as tempting smoothered with some Hollandaise sauce.
I always think that when Chelsea Flower show is here then summer is really knocking at the door .... and how about the weather last weekend, it was hotter here than Spain !!
Now that we can be expecting some warmer weather how about organising a Barbecue for family friends or colleagues? What can be nicer than enjoying a warm summer evening with some chilled wine or beer ( or both !) and having us serve up some of your BBQ favourites.
It's cheaper then you might think ....a lot less than a night in a restaurant and much, much more fun. Just tell us the date and the place and leave the rest to us!
Check out our BBQ options on our Private Party page on the main website or call us if you would like further information.

Happy Saint David's Day
Its March 1st and we are rapidly approaching British Summer Time (oh I know it doesnt feel like it !) but the onset of March celebrated on 1st with St David's Day signifies the the end of winter and the start of Spring . As Daffodils poke through the soil somehow it just feels a little better and the days start to get longer .
It's a great day for cooking too. Why not , given the occasion, conjour up a dish with Leeks?
Leek ,Potato and Bacon soup is a scrumptious "warmer" of a dish or try a succulent Chicken and Leek pie...there's some great recipes for these and other dishes of a Welsh theme on the BBC's food website http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/news_and_events/events_stdavidsday.shtml go take a look .
Now later this month is St Patrick's day on 17th. Guinness anyone ?

Year of the Tiger
February 14th as well as being Valentines Day also saw the start of the Chinese New Year ... the year of the Tiger. In addition to being a time to welcome new fortune and rid oneself of any bad luck encountered the previous year, Chinese New Year is a time for families and food.
Preparation for the New Year can begin as far in advance as a month with houses being cleaned from top to bottom, bright new traditional costumes being bought ready to be proudly worn and of course lots of scrumptious Chinese food being prepared for sharing amongst family and friends.
This weekend a colourful and sometimes noisy fire-cracker filled celebration takes place in central London from 12 noon to 6pm (check out the following for more information http://www.chinatownlondon.org/news_2010_01_12.php)
It's a great show and a fantastic opportunity to pick up some new culinary ideas. The Pomegranate foodie (or should that be fatty?!) will be there seeing what's hot in the world of Chinese Cooking and hot footing it back to Kent with a wealth of new ideas for our Spring menus.
Have a great weekend all .... Kung Hei Fat Choy!

Valentines Day Wedding Fayre
Sunday 14th February 2010, Canterbury
Well the Snow stayed away, at least it did in Canterbury, on Sunday and the sun shone too if only for a short while . It was a perfect day to entice all the brides (and grooms, mums ,dads and kids and the grand folks too !) over to Winters Barns near Canterbury for its Spring Wedding Fayre.
Mulled wine, bucks fizz , coffee and tea flowed all day long and the harpist played seductively in the corner as the brides' and their entourage made their way through the various suppliers of food , photos, flowers and all things matrimonial. It was indeed the perfect place to arrange it all. I swear I was in half a mind to get hitched myself!
Of course had I have done so I would have asked Pomegranate Catering to arrange everything for me ! Thanks to all those who stopped by the Pomegranate stand to say hello it was great to see you all.
As the day drew to a close I sensed that many were rushing off to a candle lit dinner in some cosy romantic place to celebrate the day that all lovers long for... Valentines Day. I smiled when I overheard one young man delcare that to celebrate he had bought his fiancee a new bag and belt and that she wasnt at all pleased... he did say though the vacuum cleaner was now as good as new ! Mmmmm, now that sort of comment is asking for trouble ..even a Valentines day massacre perhaps !
See you all again soon
